Former Cirencester College students are nearly 10 percent more likely to achieve a First or 2.1 degree classification compared to other colleges, schools and sixth forms across the country.
According to the Higher Education Statistics Agency, which published its results last month, nearly nine in ten Cirencester College students achieve a First Class or Upper Second Class Honours qualification at university.
The figure increases to over 93 percent of college students who progressed on to a Russell Group university - a higher average result than all other schools and colleges, including the independent sector.
“Whether it is staying at university, getting good degrees, or performing exceptionally well at Russell Group universities, Cirencester College’s students are doing outstandingly in all areas,” said Principal Jim Grant.
Based on the academic year 2017/18, the latest figures show a 7 percent increase in the number of Cirencester College students achieving higher grades, compared to previous year’s.
“The percentage of our students that drop out of university is low at 3 percent and only one student didn’t continue their studies at a Russell Group institution, this is significantly lower than the average across all providers from the sixth form sector, school sixth forms (state sector) and the independent sector," Principal Grant continued.
"We are proud to have given our students the confidence and determination to succeed and the skills and coping strategies which make them resilient in the face of pressure.”
