New equipment worth just under £5,000 has been donated to the Malmesbury Primary Care Centre.

Malmesbury League of Friends has presented the equipment to the outpatients physiotherapy department.

The new equipment, which includes two exercise bicycles, one rowing machine, a set of rubber coated dumbbells with storage rack, and a weights exercise bench, will enable the department to offer improved facilities to patients .

The department provides around 850 treatment sessions and assesses some 300 patient referrals each month.

John Cooper, the physiotherapy team leader said: “ We are extremely grateful to MLOF for their generous donation, which will enable us to offer improved treatments to an ever-growing number of patients, covering a broad range of medical conditions.”

David Hide, MLOF chairman, said: “We are delighted to have been able to support this request, which will enable more patients who need these treatments to benefit from them and more quickly.”
