A car was stolen during a break-in on Monday night.
Thieves broke into a house in Chesterton Park, Cirencester by breaking the lounge window.
In the kitchen, they found the car keys to the occupants grey Volkswagon Golf GTI with the registration number RE18 JNK and stole the car.
It happened between 10pm on Monday and 9am on Tuesday.
A Gloucestershire police spokesman said: "Organised criminals are targeting performance cars to steal and use in subsequent acquisitive crime.
"If you own a relatively high powered car such as a Golf GTI, Audi RS or BMW M type or similar then please consider where you put your keys at night.
"We are not saying you must lock them in a safe but putting them out of sight is definitely worth doing."
