THE Woolsack Races in Tetbury will be returning this Bank Holiday Monday.

Organised by the Tetbury Woolsack Team, the annual races will have men, women and children sprinting 200 metres up and down Gumstool Hill hauling woolsacks on their backs.

Men will carry woolsacks weighing 25kg and women 15kg. There will be four people in each team.

The popular French Market will be returning and the Woolsack funfair will be taking place at the Chipping Car Park.

Cheltenham born Eddie The Eagle will be opening the races.

Entertainment will be provided by the Morris Dancers on the Millennium Green with the Swindon Brass Band performing in the town centre.

Colin Dymond will be entertaining the children with his very own magic show.

And lu Axé Samba band will be bringing their very own tropical beat to Tetbury with a mix of Samba-Reggae, Samba de Roda, Funk, Afoxé and the African / Brazilian ritual music of Candomblé.
