A BROWNIE pack from Dursley is celebrating its 70th birthday this year.

1st Dursley Brownies are marking the occasion with a special event is planned on June 15, and are keen to track down any former members to join in their festivities.

The pack was formed in 1949 and to show how they’ve moved with the times, members will be offering a range of different activities from across the decades.

“The current Brownies will be practising their hostess skills, there’ll be a campfire sing song, plus the opportunity to take part in crafts and games,” said Anne Anderson, Girlguiding Dursley district coordinator.

“There will be face painting, a promise renewal for those who are still Guiding members, we’ll sing happy birthday and eat cake.

“We’re finishing off with a dance workshop, thanks to local dance instructor Amy Addle.

“If you were a former youth member or if you have volunteered at the unit over the last 70 years then please get in touch to find out more and receive your invitation.”
