Chris Goldie makes some excellent points in his letter headed “A to Z of Woes” published in your paper of Thursday, May 9.
I think his comments regarding pollution, congestion, cost, timing and the fact that The Waterloo is a cul-de-sac are particularly relevant.
Now that we have had a change in the power structure of the Cotswold District Council, surely now is an ideal opportunity for our councillors to step back and look again at the logic of building a multi-storey car park anywhere in our beautiful town and to find a modern solution to a perceived problem.
I appeal to our representatives to think again and, by doing so, perhaps the mistakes of the past can be avoided.
