A COMMUNITY group supporting an Alveston secondary school have been given a cheque for nearly £1,200.
Friends of Marlwood School (FOMS) received the donation from Cox Automotive Foundation at a school assembly on Wednesday.
Funding problems at Marlwood, and other schools in the Castle School Education Trust, were revealed in the BBC 2 documentary.
Having watched the show staff wanted to support schools in the local area and fill some of the gap in funding not being provided by the government.
The money will be used to pay for much needed supplies such as Chromebooks and tailors mannequins.
