A new course record was set at the Tetbury Wacky Races on bank holiday Monday.

The eight annual derby, which was organised by Tetbury Lions, sees competitors build their own motor-less racing carts to take on the course which begins at Chipping Street car park along Cirencester Road.

The course then turns right at the Royal Oak via a sharp hairpin which heads towards the Millennium Green onto the home straight towards the finish.

Steve Thomas riding C12 won in 28 seconds - a new course record.

The best presented kart was 'Dead Last' owned and ridden by Craig Lacey and Patrick O'Donovan (son of the former British Rallycross champion Ollie O'Donovan) won the junior title.

All proceeds went to the Longfield Hospice.
