Friends of Tetbury Hospital are hoping to raise £11,000 to buy a flexible cystoscopy system for their new procedure room through their annual house-to-house collection in June.

The equipment they hope to purchase will mean patients can have their urology diagnostic procedure at the hospital, rather than having to travel further afield.

This procedure enables the consultant to look at the bladder through a viewer and then, if required, take a biopsy.

Both men and women can have a cystoscopy.

The annual collection will take place on Monday, June 10 and will run until Friday, June 10.

Last year, the collection raised £10,967.30 which enabled them to buy an ultrasound machine.

Although the Friends have a loyal band of collectors, they always need new volunteers.
