It is important to note that the badgers have been living at this site for a great many years and official cones have been placed (one assumes by Highways) to mark the diggings on numerous occasions.
The present situation could have been avoided had the road been repaired before it reached this critical condition, at a time when the badgers were not active, and months ahead of this or any RIAT.
