Three people are in a stable condition following a crash in the Cotswolds.

Just after 3pm yesterday, there was a crash in Andoversford at the crossroads joining Gloucester Road and the Withington to Dowdeswell road.

Two cars, a blue Skoda Fabia and a white Volkswagen Up were involved.

An air ambulance was called to the scene and one person was taken to Southmead Hospital, Bristol.

Two other people were taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

The elderly occupants were later all said to be in a stable condition.

A Gloucestershire police spokesman said: "Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision near Andoversford yesterday afternoon in which three people suffered serious injuries.

"The road was closed for several hours to allow collision investigators to work at the scene.

"The officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to police, and anyone who travelled through the area and has dashcam footage which would help with the investigation."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 266 of May 7.
