A POPULAR stall holder at Stroud farmers' market has set off on a three month spiritual walk around the UK.
Girish Patel, 60, who runs a vegan Indian food stall, lit a candle in St Laurence Church, Stroud, yesterday morning before heading off on an interfaith pilgrimage with destinations in England, Scotland and Wales.
Entitled the Journey of Peace 2019, it will include gatherings at special spiritual places along the way to celebrate unity in diversity.
Girish, who is also a yoga teacher, musician and co-founder Stroud's Sacred Music Festival, decided to mark his 60th year by undertaking the walk.
He reached his first stop in Hartland, Devon yesterday evening.
