AN OLD Nailsworth town sign is to be auctioned off this weekend.
The auction is taking place at Nailsworth Town Council's annual meeting on Saturday.
Nailsworth mayor, Jonathan Duckworth said: "We are auctioning this sign to raise money for the Nailsworth Health Partnership, which seeks to improve the health and well being of people in Nailsworth.
"It's a great way to raise money for such a great cause, and a last chance to grab a bit of Nailsworth history."
The meeting was to have taken place at Nailsworth bus station, but the venue has now been changed.
"It will now take place at the Town Hall, because a storm is forecast with 45mph winds and the marquee wouldn't be safe," said Cllr Duckworth.
The meeting starts at 10.30am.
The town awards will be presented by the mayor, followed by the auction, at around 11am.
