CLIMB aboard a fire engine, jump into a police car, try on emergency services kit, and more - all at a special fun day in Stroud.

Gloucestershire's police and fire services will be taking over Merrywalks shopping centre in Stroud this Saturday, from 10am to 3pm, for the Emergency Services Community Fun Day.

The event will showcase a range of brand new police cars and fire engines, and will feature lots of fun activities, including face painting and performances from the Five Valleys Circus too.

The fun day is aimed at promoting Mobile Phone Awareness month.

Merrywalks Centre manager Dionne Moore said: “We are really excited to be hosting this fantastic community event here at Merrywalks to promote mobile phone awareness month with such fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.”

Inspector Sarah Blake from Gloucestershire Police said: “We are delighted to be working on our first community event with the team from Merrywalks to raise awareness of our services within the local community as well as enjoying some family fun”.

The team from Merrywalks are working in partnership with Gloucestershire Police Force and Gloucestershire Fire Service to deliver the community fun day.
