A man was arrested after he got stuck on the roof of a bank in Cirencester and called 999 for help.
Police were called to Barclays Bank in the Market Place at 4am on Saturday, where they found a 39-year-old man stranded on the roof.
Officers arrested the man on suspicion of attempted burglary and kept him in custody overnight.
A Gloucestershire police spokesperson said: "After a night in a cell our enquiries showed no attempted break-in, just drunken foolery.
"It was considered but no damage was found and no disorder took place."
