The heritage of Lechlade will be the subject of a special exhibition in the town next weekend.

Lechlade art, photography and history societies have teamed up with the Lechlade Marina to show the towns past in a dedicated insight into the history of the Cotswold town.

The event will take place at The Riverside Inn from Friday April 12, to Sunday, April 14, with live music taking place on the Friday night from singer Adam Isaacs.

Riverside Inn manager Will Rowe is looking forward to the event.

“We have not been here long but we understand that Lechlade used to have a little celebration day when all the societies and groups would gather together to show what they do to the residents,” he explained.

“This is the start of something we would like to host every year, maybe even try and have a specific – Lechlade Day.

“It promises to be quite fascinating and it is always interesting to see how things looked in years gone by and how the town came together."

Photographs, pictures, documents and information from the towns past will be will be on show at the exhibition.
