A BELOVED Cotswold inn has won the Wilts & Glos Standard's Pub of the Year competition.
After hundreds of votes flooded in from our readers, the Pub of the Year crown has been claimed by The Cat and Custard Pot Inn, in Shipton Moyne.
The popular pub overcame fierce competition from five other treasured locals which made the shortlist – The Daneway in Sapperton, The Greyhound in Siddington, and the Cirencester trio of The Golden Farm, The Golden Cross Inn and The Thames Head.
The landlords at The Cat and Custard can now look forward to receiving a Pub of the Year 2019 trophy and a two-night stay at Melbourne Lodge in Hertfordshire as their prize.
See next week's Standard for an interview with the winners.
