A TEAM of runners from Fairford Rugby Football Club are taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon, Chris Roberts writes.

Taking place on Sunday, March 24, the team of 12 are hoping to raise around £5,000 for the charity Make a Wish, which grants life-changing wishes to children with serious illnesses.

One of the runners, Jenny Cook, is a director of Wishes.

Another of the runners, Lyndsey Thurlow, has her own personal challenge – she will be running an incredible four marathons, two half marathons and an ultra-race this year hoping to raise a further £5,000 for the charity and is already 90 per cent of the way there.

To help their fundraising, the team have held raffles, cake stalls and a table top stall.

They would also like to say thank you The Keepers pub in Quenington, who helped them raise a fantastic £200 by holding a pub quiz.
