One teenager has been charged with assault and carrying an offensive weapon at a college.

A second teenager was also charged with assault.

On Monday, March 11, officers arrested a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old following an incident at Cirencester College.

Both men have been charged with affray and assault.

The 18-year-old was also charged with possessing an offensive weapon.

They will appear in court on March 27.

A spokesperson for Cirencester College said: “The safety and safeguarding of students is paramount to Cirencester College. 

“This incident on Monday, March 11, was dealt with very swiftly by the college’s own security team and the police. 

“The young people arrested are not students of this college and as this is an ongoing police investigation, it would be inappropriate to make any further comment.”
