Five intrepid teachers are dusting off the Lycra to raise funds for Malmesbury Primary School.
The team have volunteered to take on the Bath Half-Marathon on Sunday, March 17, to help the school PTA in raising money for a multi use games area at the school.
Taking part will be Maria Callus, Sarah Gazey, Andrew Duncan, Jonathan Watkins and Peter Gaffney.
Posting on her justgiving page, Sarah said: "The five runners vary widely in ability and experience – and at least one of them has very dodgy knees – but the important thing is that they are all passionate about giving the children the best possible learning environment.
"Outdoor learning is such a wonderful way for children to gain new knowledge and experience, so the teachers thought they’d give them the best possible start by getting outside themselves and training for this mighty sporting feat."
So far, the team has raised over £600.
