Dear editor

I WAS interested to read your recent article on Cirencester’s Home Guard.

If readers would like to find out more there are a number of documents on the website of the Living Memory Historical Association including the full text of Col Robinson’s report.

The others are : HG Battalion HQ Staff list, HG Company HQ Staff list, Cirencester HG Mobile Platoon organisation, HG orders for Sapperton Tunnel, Cirencester HG Defence Plans, Cirencester HG Road Block list and a Report of "C" Company Stand Down Parade.

There are other references on the website and also a large number artefacts and ephemera relating to the Home Guard in the LMHA Museum.

This is in the Air Raid Shelter and Old Cottages at the site of the Old Memorial Hospital in Sheep Street and will open for the new season on the first Saturday in May.

Visit livingmemory.btck.co.uk

Kind regards

Peter Grace
