ONE of Cirencester’s popular events aimed at foodies is returning to the town this month.

Cirencester World Village Market will take over the Market Place on the weekend on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17, and will feature international street cuisine as well as arts and crafts.

The market, organised each year by Zoom Events, promises that it will have a festival feel and follows last October successful Autumn Festival.

Paul Kennedy, Director of Zoom Events, said: “We are looking forward to visiting Cirencester again in 2019 after receiving a warm welcome from local people last year.

“We relish the opportunity to add some extra vibrancy and excitement to this already bustling, historic market town.”

Food fans will have a chance to sample street foods such as German sausages, pork or chicken souvlaki and traditional Italian pasta, savouries and desserts.

One of the stallholders will be Cirencester favourite, Non Solo Pasta, who have already got a name for themselves as an Italian street food vendor since they started trading at the town’s farmers’ markets.

Clara Cardillo from Non Solo Pasta said: "We are really looking forward to do the Market and share our love and passion for Italy and Italian Food."

There will also be a craft beer bar.

Groceries will include gourmet coffee, chilli sauces, doughnuts and candied jalapenos.

This could also be an excuse to stock up on gifts, from the range of craft stalls selling contemporary jewellery, clothing, blankets, hair accessories, bags, cards and other handmade items.

Visitors will have the opportunity to discover an array of unusual items from around the world, in addition to stalls selling local products.

Other participants during the weekend will include Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.

Cirencester World Village Market is free to enter and will be open on Saturday, March 16 from 9am to 6pm and Sunday, March 17 from 10am to 5pm.
