PAWS on Patrol held a successful get together at South Cerney Village Hall last weekend, in partnership with the local police.

The event was supported by Barkz Canine Consultancy, Merrytails Dog Boutique, Gloucestershire Older Persons Association and Walkie Paws, K9 companions and Pets as Therapy.

Other community members also attended to support the event.

Lots of village dogs and their owners attended to find out more about Paws on Patrol in the community and to collect the clay pawprints which they made at the last event to decorate a tree for the Christmas Tree Festival in All Hallows Church.

Paws on Patrol is an initiative supported by Parish Council and the local Police and supplemants Neighbourhood Watch, with dog owners asked to keep a watch for any type of anti-social activity while walking their pets around the area.

The dogs enjoyed socialising while the owners chatted over a cup of coffee and a biscuit.

One of the Paws on Patrol volunteers and organisers, Anna Gibbins, said: “It is lovely to have so many well behaved dogs (and owners) from around the village come together at these events.

“Skye was only on her second walk when she came to sign up as a new recruit and she behaved impeccably. Good to see everyone as always.”
