A town centre road will temporarily close next month to allow for Wessex Water to reline a broken sewer in the road.
Part of the B4040 in Malmesbury will close from its junction with Gloucester Road for a distance of approximately 60 metres in a south easterly direction.
The order will come into place on March 2, until March 3.
Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
Wiltshire Council has suggested an alternative route via Gloucester Road – Tetbury Hill – B4014 Filands – A429 Crudwell Road – B4040 (unaffected length) and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
