Residents in a Cotswold town and village are growing increasingly concerned at the level of drug use in the area.

Police have received reports from residents in both Fairford and Kempsford worried about drug use.

In Fairford, residents are particularly concerned about the incidents around the Walnut Tree Field area.

The neighbourhood policing team has now made the issue priority a community priority.

A police spokesperson said: "We will be conducting dedicated patrols around these areas at various times of day and night to try and detect and deter this sort of activity in the area.

"An operation involving officers from across the Cotswolds took place on the evening of Friday, February 8, where high visibility and plain clothes patrols took place.

"On this occasion nobody was caught but two cars were stopped in the car park on Milton Street, Fairford."

If you have any information regarding drugs in Fairford, call police on 101 or by email on 101@gloucestershire.police.uk.
