A man and two boys from Stroud have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary after armed police shut down a road in Rodborough.

Police were called to Kings Road in Stroud at 11.20am yesterday following reports that a man had been assaulted.

The offenders fled the scene and a police deployed a helicopter to find them.

"The victim has been taken to hospital for his injuries to be assessed and a scene guard is currently in place," a police spokesperson said at the time. 

Gloucestershire Constabulary have now announced that a 46-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, both from Stroud, have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burlary.

Another boy, aged 17, has been arrested on suspicion of assault, aggravated burglary, possession of a class A drug and being in possesson of an offensive weapon. 

The victim has since been discharged from hospital following treatment. 

A resident who lives on the road and witnessed the police response told the SNJ shortly after the incident: "First I heard all these loud bangs, and my dog went nuts.

"So I went up and looked out the window. I saw all these police cars, and police with guns.

"I'm slightly below street level. I saw as many as four to six police cars, some left and others arrived over time. Now I only see one police car and one police van."

Today the resident said a police officer has still been guarding the scene on Kings Road.

"Earlier I saw someone dressed head to toe in white coverups in the doorway," they said.
