Police have dealt with an incident where threats were made by a person confined within a flat in Columbia Close, Gloucester.
A 39 year old man from the city has now been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and is in police custody.
A small number of people from adjacent properties were evacuated by police earlier this afternoon and taken to Roots café where they were immediately supported by Gloucester City Homes.
These people have now returned to their homes.
Alvin Street, which was cordoned off during the incident, re-opened around 8pm.
PCSOs will remain in the area for the rest of the evening to provide reassurance and we'd like to thank the public for their support and co-operation while police brought the challenging situation to a peaceful and safe resolution.
