A Bourton-on-the-Water motorist who was caught at the wheel when he was more than two time the legal drink drive limit has been banned from the roads for two years.

Richard Burch, 59, of Station Road, pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared before Cheltenham magistrates on January 25.

Police stopped him in his Vauxhall Insignia in Station Road and he was found to have 95 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 35 microgrammes.

Burch was given a community order and a three-month curfew.

He was also ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs.
