THE Back Row Club has a film at the Village Hall on Friday, February 8 commencing at 7.30 pm.

SOME 60 people enjoyed an evening of excellent music from the After Hours Quintet at Chedworth Village Hall recently  The Quintet performed as part of the  Arts in Rural Gloucestershire (AIRinG) programme.

This was the last AIRinG event in the 2018/2019 season in Chedworth.

CHEDWORTH Village Hall committee has a volunteer crisis. In an impassioned plea to the Parish Council for funds for running costs the Hall Committee members explained that it is becoming more and more difficult to find volunteers to do work at the Hall as the present members have grown old or are very busy these days.

They asked for £12,000 to be made available to pay people if more volunteers do not come forward.

CHEDWORTH Parish council has set the budget for 2019/20. Among areas of significant increase are £2,900 (around £1,000 extra for management of hedges, verges and Tuns Hill Triangle,  £5,000 for development of PC storage facility at Diggers Field and £6,000 to support the village hall.

It was also agreed not to reduce the year end balance forecast at £8,255 for this year so there is scope for further expenditure. The effect of this will be to add around £20 to the Council Tax for a band D property and about £30 for Band F.

CHEDWORTH Silver Band has been receiving enquiries and provisional bookings for the 2019 season.  The Band is now developing its repertoire to provide a program of music suitable for these venues.

Many performances are now sponsored by 3rd parties and recent concerts have typically made £500 profit for the organisers. The Band is keen to recruit some more cornet players. Rehearsals are on on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm. Please contact David 01285 720313 or Brian 01793 771667 for more details.
