The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind.
In place across much of the country, and the whole of the south west, the warning is in place from 10pm tonight (Wednesday, February 6) until 9am tomorrow morning.
Very strong winds are expected across some southern and central parts of the UK.
In the south west there will be gusts of 60 to 70 mph on coasts and 50 to 60 mph inland.
Delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely, especially for high-sided vehicles crossing bridges.
The Met Office has also said to be prepared for short term loss of power and other services.
