A man has been charged with assault and criminal damage in connection with an incident on Sunday afternoon that saw armed police called out.
Simeon Chambers, 23, had handed himself in to Stroud Police Station yesterday where he was arrested.
He is due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court today.
Police had been asking for information about the Chambers's whereabouts after an assault in Uplands, Stroud that left a man with facial injuries.
Members of the public were asked not to approach Chambers but to call police.
Officers would like to thank the public and local press for their help in sharing the appeal.
