POLICE cracked down on drinkers this weekend, with several arrests in the Cirencester area.
Last night (Saturday), a driver crashed into parked cars in The Avenue, Cirencester.
He tried to drive away, but officers were just two cars behind and promptly detained him.
And on Friday night, three drunk young men from Cirencester spent the night in custody for disorderly behaviour in Castle Street.
They left the cells in the morning, with a £90 penalty notice and a record on the Police National Computer.
Also on Friday evening, a man rolled his Vivaro van into a hedge near South Cerney. He was uninjured, but was found to be nearly twice the drink drive limit.
He was charged and will be in court in February.
