CORKS are popping at a Cotswold vineyard this week after one of its wines was voted among the best of the year.

But wine lovers will need to be quick if they want to taste the award-winning bubbly: just 400 bottles have been produced.

Poulton Hill Vineyard's Bulari Sparkling Rosé 2015 was honoured in the zesty and zingy category of The World's Finest Glass of Bubbly Awards run by the renowned champagne and sparkling wine magazine Glass of Bubbly.

Wines were tasted over two days by over fifty of the world’s top wine professionals at the Marriott County Hall Hotel in Westminster.

It's the first award of the year for the three-hectare vineyard at Poulton, on the Wiltshire / Gloucestershire border which last year won awards for its red and white wines at the annual South West Vineyards Association and for its sloe spirit Sloe de Vie, which was named Product of the Year in the Lux Life Awards, where the vineyard was also named Best Family Run Vineyard in the South West.

Its 2016 Bacchus, meanwhile, was named Drinks Product of the Year at the Cotswold Life Food and Drink Awards 2018.

Managing director Tiléri Charles-Jones said: "We're delighted to win our first award of the year.

"We released a limited quantity of our 2015 Bulari sparkling rosé for the awards. Bottles will be available exclusively from our cellar door at Poulton Hill Estate, Poulton GL7 5JA from early March."
