Following the extraordinary success of calendar of stunning photos taken in and around one of the most beautiful towns in the Cotswolds guests gathered to celebrate the achievement, and the remarkable community that made it happen.

Around a hundred people gathered at The Mansion, Cirencester Park, as guests of the Countess Bathurst who launched a charity calendar in October featuring stunning photographs of Cirencester and its historic park, all taken by the community.

The aim was to raise money for three charities - Shine Cirencester, Oak and Furrows and Cirencester Open Air Swimming Pool.

Thanks to the beautiful photographs and professional design all 1,000 calendars were sold, in turn raising over £9,000 for the charities.

During the private reception, the countess thanked all of those who had given their time to make the project happen - from the photographers who donated their work, to the printers, website developers and graphic design team who provided essential skills and support.

Lady Bathurst said, “I am absolutely delighted, this project has been amazing and succeeded way beyond my expectations.

“I had this idea for a calendar 20 years ago - I love taking photographs but never had the time.

“Then I realised that there was so much talent in the community and so much pride in our town that I suggested using photographs taken by them.”

Cirencester businesses gave invaluable support to the project and during her speech on the evening Lady Bathurst thanked Adam Vines of Lounge Design for his help creating the calendar, Jered Bolton for designing the website and Kevin Hutchings of Busy Fingers, a printer who produced everything at cost.

“It’s a special town that comes together to support one another as ours does,” Lady Bathurst said.

“Not just with this wonderful calendar, but also with the Big Yellow Bus Project and the beautiful human poppy that the town created on Remembrance Sunday.”

On the evening a further donation of £370 from Beano coffee shop was given to the Big Yellow Bus Project, an emergency shelter for rough sleepers in the town.

The team has promised that a 2020 calendar will be made.
