ALL schools closed today in the Fairford area, due to no water pressure in the area.

Schools closed included Fairford Primary, Farmor's and Flying Start Nursery and pre school.

A statement on Thames Water's website put out first thing this morning read: “We are aware some customers in the GL7 postal code area are experiencing issues with their water supply this morning.

This is due to a broken water pipe on Netherton. Our teams are on site working to repair the broken water pipe as quick as possible.

"We’re sorry for any disruption caused.”

Thames Water then provided a second statement at 1.30pm today:

"We are continuing to repair the broken pipe whilst we do this we've re-routed water from another part of our network so it brings you water.

"Some customers may still experience lower pressure but once the repair is complete your water will return to normal."

They now believe that the issue has been sorted.

“We’re very sorry for anyone affected by today’s burst to an eight-inch diameter pipe.

"Our engineers have now fixed the leak so supply should be returning to all properties impacted.

“We will remain on site this evening to ensure there are no further problems.”
