A popular main road between Malmesbury and Cirencester will temporarily close this month to allow for resurfacing work.

The A429 in Crudwell will close from its junction with Goosey Corner for approximately 1,200 metres.

The order will come into place on January 21, between the hours of 7pm and 12am until January 29.

Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Wiltshire Council has suggested an alternative route via the unaffected length of the A429 - B4014 - A429 (unaffected length) and vice versa.

The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
