A main road in Malmesbury will temporary close to allow for resurfacing work.

The B4040 Bristol Street will close from its junction with Abbey Row for approximately 380 metres.

The order will come into place on January 28, between the hours of 9am and 3.30pm until February 5.

Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Wiltshire Council has suggested an alternative route via the unaffected length of the B4040 or the B4014 – Tetbury Hill – Gloucester Road and vice versa.

The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
