THIS fantastic late 1950s child’s pedal car (complete with spark plugs, battery and working lights) was sold for a hammer price of £660 at the latest Tayler & Fletcher monthly sale of Antiques, Chattles, and House Clearance effects.

The owner, a local gentleman originally from Ascott-under-Wychwood remembers playing with the car in the late 1950s and soon after, the fine looking automobile was consigned to the back of the garage where it sat for many years until it’s resurrection at this auction sale.

A huge amount of pre-sale interest was shown by both collectors and dealers alike and even with the not inconsiderable restoration work required to bring it back up to its former glory, the car raced away to one of the top prices of the day.

Needless to say, fine art auctioneer and valuer Martin Lambert, is now searching the back of all the garages as regards all of the house clearances that the auctioneers receive instructions on!
