Park and Ride
I WAS interested to read that CDC have now shelved Park and Ride as Cirencester is just too small for it to be viable.
Also C.J Goldie’s in his letter to your paper suggested that with the coming of the autonomous vehicles, a multi storey car park would become a very expensive white elephant.
I agree with your reader who stated that the only practical and viable solution is Park and Stride.
I refer you to the Cirencester Civic Society Car Park Review of April 2016 which proposed a number of short and long term Park and Stride car park locations around the town for business commuters and residents.
This would free up the town centre car parks for shoppers, as well as helping to encourage a healthier lifestyle for commuters and residents, with a 15 minute walk twice per day.
With no viable alternative, perhaps it is time to like at Park and Stride sites in greater detail as a much less expensive and more practical solution.
