A new scheme from the council has created fun activity sessions for children throughout a number of libraries in the area.

South Gloucestershire’s libraries will now have lots of seasonal fun activities taking place for children and families this festive season.

All activities are free craft drop-ins most suitable for primary school aged children and new faces are always very welcome.

The sessions that are taking place include:

  • Saturday 15 December, Christmas fun will be taking place at Filton Library, 11am to 12 midday. Drop in for some crafty Christmas fun.
  • Wednesday 19 December, Stories around the tree will be at Kingswood Library, 5.45pm to 6.45pm. Seasonal stories and festive fun, wear your pyjamas and bring your favourite cuddly toy to join in the fun. Event is free, but places must be booked by contacting Kingswood Library.
  • Thursday 20 December, Christmas fun at Bradley Stoke Library, 3.30pm to 5.30pm. Drop in for some crafty Christmas fun – make a reindeer card and tree decorations and more.
  • Saturday 22 December, Just chillin’ at Yate Library, 10.30am to 11.30am. Come down for winter crafts, snowmen, penguins and more.
  • Festive fun at Emersons Green Library, 10.30am to 12 midday. Christmas fun with festive crafts and activities – make a reindeer card and tree decorations and more.
  • Friday 28 December, Just chillin’ at Winterbourne Library, 10.30am to 11.30am. Just pop in for winter crafts, snowmen, penguins and more.
  • Thursday 3 January, there will be a session at Thornbury Library, 2pm to 3pm. Drop in for winter crafts, snowmen, penguins and more.
  • Winter wonderland at Hanham Library, 2pm to 3pm. Join for children’s winter crafts. Make your own rocking robin, polar bear mask, 2019 calendar and more.
  • Friday 4 January, Winter wonderland at Cadbury Heath Library, 11am to 12 midday. Join for children’s winter crafts. Make your own rocking robin, polar bear mask, 2019 calendar and more.

Parents are advised that they must stay with their children throughout the sessions at the libraries.
