Situated just outside of Yate and Chipping Sodbury, towards Bath, The Bull Inn offers a fantastic variety of delicious food whilst also providing a beautiful atmosphere for its customers.

There are not many other pubs around the Hinton area, but if there were then it would do well to compare with this one which is just a ten minute drive away from the Ring Road and A46.

As you walk in to the 17th-century pub building you are immediately greeted by happy members of staff, a brilliant management team and some warm log fires.

Whilst there is no exclusive disabled access due to the age of the building, but staff work hard to accommodate all who visit.

With seating both in the bar and also in The Old Dairy restaurant area there are a number of cosy spots that people can enjoy.

The menu itself is impressive, with a selection of good starters including Pork Belly Bites, Pear and Stilton Salad and Homemade Nachos.

It should be noted that there is a great menu of gluten free options as well.

Me and my partner shared the nachos which were covered with a generous portion of pulled pork, cheese and sauces.

It was more than enough for two people and whilst on this occasion we could not be tempted by any of the weekly specials, they were certainly interesting and are apparently very popular.

With different Pies and Tipple’s of the Week there is a degree of class at the pub, I learned that choices change regularly to keep the menu fresh for the regulars.

For main I had the award-winning Bacon Wrapped Faggots with Garden Kale and Double Cooked Chips, whilst my girlfriend had a Halloumi & Flat Mushroom Burger with Skin on Fries, both meals priced at around £11.

It was easy to see from the food why the pub won Best Food at the Best of the Best Awards last year for all Wadworth Pubs throughout the UK.

Other mains include beautifully battered Fish and Chips, a Bull Burger, Maple Glazed Pork Belly and a selection of lovely steaks.

If you still require food after your mains then there is a selection of desserts including Apple Crumble Tart, Marshfield Ice Cream or a Triple Chocolate Mousse all priced at around £5.

Helpful staff who are completely clued-up project a professional atmosphere and with a brand new pre-order Christmas menu that promises to be equally as impressive as the normal one, book a table before the end of the year to have your own experience.

The Bull is a lovely pub with a feeling of warmth and great history, its food may be slightly expensive but it is certainly worth the money, it is one of the best places I have visited in recent years and one I shall frequent more often in the future.
