STAFF at a Cirencester restaurant have ditched their razors to support Movember.

The top lip of the kitchen brigade of Cirencester’s Made By Bob has looked a little hairy of late as the team have all grown moustaches to raise money for charity.

They have joined millions around the globe to unite against men’s prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health and suicide prevention by growing their facial hair as part of Movember.

Movember is a charity fundraising initiative that sees men around the globe grow a moustache to raise awareness of issues surrounding men’s health while looking for donations.

Head chef Sam Edwards said: “It has been a bit of fun and I don’t think after the 30th of November I will be keeping mine (moustache).

“We have been getting some funny looks and some think we did it for our recent French Night but this is not the case.

"We won’t all be growing white beards for our upcoming Christmas themed dining evening,” he joked.

“The restaurant has recently been acknowledged by Michelin for its dining quality and men’s health is a serious issue so we wanted to combine the two as we are all on show in the open style kitchen we have here.

"If you come in please leave a donation so we can help fight these cancers and get more research and help for men’s mental health.”

It all started in 2003 in Australia when two friends thought up the idea and found 30 people willing to take up the challenge.

Last year, £8 million was raised for the Movember Foundation from participants in the UK alone.
