A busy road in Tetbury will close for the next week to allow for resurfacing work.

Starting this morning (Tuesday, November 27), work will take place on Chipping Street through to Monday, December 3, excluding the weekend.

Whilst the work is taking place, there will be a road closure in place between 7am and 7pm.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire County Council, said, “Gloucestershire County Council is resurfacing Chipping Street in Tetbury during the day (7am –7pm) between 27 November and Monday 3 December as part of our promise to invest £150 million in the counties roads.

"We appreciate road closures are inconvenient, but in order to keep residents, visitors and the team working on the road safe it is necessary.

“We have planned the work in Tetbury so we can be in and out as quickly as possible and have tried to do it in a time which will cause the least inconvenience.

"Crews are replacing the surface outside the Railway Centre car park first so visitors can park here as soon as it is safe.”

A diversion will be in place for the duration of the work.
