THREE new businesses are launching in Lechlade as its High Street looks to buck the national trend.

With Britain’s retailers reportedly struggling to survive, the first of three new businesses has launched in the town.

Pizza, by Sourdough Revolution is the latest venture for Max and Victoria Abbott.

The artisan bakers have achieved much acclaim for their high-quality bread, supplying businesses in the community such as Lynwood and Co and Burford Garden Company.

Opening on November 14, they welcomed in locals with a glass of bubbly and a taster of the of delicious handmade sourdough pizzas on offer.

“We’re excited to finally open our doors” says Victoria Abbott.

“We have so many ideas and it’s great to finally bring one to fruition”.

The stylish pizza outlet is open from 4pm to 8pm from Thursday to Sunday each week.

Fabulous Partyware, established by Lechlade local Hayley Byron in 2014, is the second shop to open.

Starting as an online business selling over 50 ranges of themed partyware, the business has been a huge success, enabling Hayley to expand into a bigger premises.

The shop will operate as a ‘click and collect’ business.

Customers will continue to place orders via the website but have the option to collect at the shop, located adjacent to Old Bell Antiques on the High Street.

“We’re offering all the party ranges from the website plus helium balloons, sweet party favours, party toys and stocking fillers, party bags and party accessories.” said Hayley.

“There are no official opening hours, but customers are welcome to make an appointment to browse, without obligation to buy.”

Located just next door, The Health Box is the third business to open on the High Street in the town.

Set to open on December 1, it will offer natural organic foods and remedies with advice from a qualified nutritionist.
