A MAN found with serious injuries in Gloucester yesterday evening has died. 

Police were called to Great Western Road in the city just after 5.20pm.

The victim, whose identity is not yet known, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital by ambulance but pronounced dead a short time later.

A police spokesman said: "The death is being treated as suspicious and a murder investigation has been launched.

"A cordon has been put in place while enquiries continue and the road remains closed to general traffic at this time."
