Pupils, parents, staff and governors at Down Ampney Church of England Primary School are delighted to have been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted just two years after they were judged ‘Requires Improvement’.

There has been change in all areas of the school, including the introduction of a new teaching team.

The Headteacher and staff have worked hard to ensure that they can provide the best possible for education for all of their children, whilst building stronger links with the wider community.

This report has come just in time for the school’s final open morning on Friday 7th December.

Headteacher Adam Clark said he was elated with the outcome: “The inspection is a reflection of all of the hard work which has taken place at the school over the last two years.

It is an honour to lead a team so focused and dedicated to improving outcomes for all of our children.”

Improvements in the quality of teaching were highlighted, with parents sharing that their children come home ‘buzzing with information’ from a curriculum which is ‘designed to interest pupils and create a love of learning.’

“We will be using this report as a first step to the continued improvements which we want to see at the school. Having pupils, parents, staff and governors who all want to build on our successes, makes it a very exciting time to be leading Down Ampney Church of England Primary School,” said Mr Clark.
