A WELL-KNOWN amateur dramatics group in Iron Acton are preparing to wow audiences with their latest pantomime.

The Actonians are based at Iron Acton Parish Hall and are looking forward to bringing audiences their production of 'Sinbad the Sailor'.

The show, which will be a version of the traditional tale, has been written by member of the group Godfrey Laundy and promises lots of laughter to the audiences.

Every year the group produce two shows as well as enter the One Act Drama Festival that takes place regionally around the country.

Ahead of the panto, which runs from Wednesday, November 28 to December 1, one member of the group has revealed that this could be one of their best yet.

Sue Anstey is playing the role of the Fortune Teller and told how the group are excited to take it to the stage.

"We can promise some great dancing, awful jokes and lots of audience participation," she said.

"We have welcomed back a few of our old members which is really nice, there is a big team working on it.

"There are quite a lot of special effects in it which look pretty impressive, although there are some bits that most of the cast haven't even seen.

"The director has decided to keep a lot of the effects secret so we are excited ourselves to see them."

Tickets are available on the actonians website: actonians.co.uk/boxoffice.

They are priced at £10 for adults with under 12's costing just £6. There is also a matinee performance on the Saturday at 2.30pm.

"We have a fantastic team that are working behind the scenes on make-up and costumes etc and it is all looking incredible, especially the Dame who may steal the show," Sue continued.

"It is going to be a great show and we are looking forward to it."
