Cirencester man Simon Gordon-Walker passed away on Tuesday, November 6, aged 58, after suffering coronary difficulties.

The well respected water consultant and community minded man was secretary and treasurer of Poulton Cricket Club and a member of The Sealed Knot battle re-enactment group.

Simon was instrumental in Cirencester’s recent Abbey 900 Festival and was also on the legacy committee for this also.

Friend Jono Rooke said: “Simon will be sorely missed not just by his family and friends but by Cirencester as a whole.

“He did so much for individuals but also for groups.

"He was a supporter of everything that is good for the town and had the pleasure of knowing him personally but also working with him on Abbey 900 and the Cirencester and City of Bathurst, Australia Friendship Initiative.

“Simon will be remembered by the Cirencester Town Council, the Chamber of Commerce and CCDT Ltd.

“We are expecting a full church and guests from all over the world for his funeral and celebrations of his life,” he added.

Simon is survived by his sons Jamie and Danny Gordon-Walker.

A private family cremation will be followed by a memorial service at the Church of St. John the Baptist, Cirencester, Gloucestershire on Friday, November 23, at 2pm.
