A RETIRED British murder squad police detective is set to reveal the name of the man who he thinks was Jack the Ripper at his one-man show in Corsham later this month.

Trevor Marriott is a leading Ripper expert who since 2002 has been conducting a cold case investigation into the Whitechapel Murders of 1888 in London which were attributed to a fearsome unknown killer who came to be known as Jack the Ripper.

For the past 130 years this mystery has captivated the imagination of people worldwide and still does today.

He has now finally concluded his long and protracted cold case investigation with startling new evidence.

Mr Marriott said: “I have unearthed new facts which now not only dispel but shatter the myth that has been Jack the Ripper for 130 years.

“I am now able to answer that long-standing question to which everyone wants to know the answer ‘Who was Jack the Ripper?’”

Mr Marriott will present his evidence and conclusions at the Town Hall, Corsham, on Friday, November 23 from 7pm, as part of the town’s Magic and Mayhem Festival.

His two-hour one-man audio/visual show ‘Jack the Ripper - The Real Truth’ is packed with pictures from 1888 showing original crime scene photographs of the victims, the suspects, and many other original photographs from 1888 relating to the murders.

The show contains some images of a graphic and disturbing nature unsuitable for young children under 16.

Tickets are £15 or £14 for concessions from the Pound box office by calling 01249 701628.
