Marlwood will be the subject of tonight's episode of the BBC documentary School.
The Alveston secondary is featuring alongside Thornbury's Castle school and Mangotsfield school in the six-part series.
Marlwood was placed in special measures following an inadequate Ofsted report published in July 2017.
Effectiveness of leadership and management and the quality of teaching were all criticised in the report.
The episode will feature former headteacher James Pope's reaction to the school being placed in special measures.
Last week's episode featuring Castle school showcased the shocking funding issues faced by the Castle School Education Trust.
